High Catering Memphis Standards

Please do not get me wrong, having high standards and being an obnoxious customer are two very different things. I am not and will not even encouraging people to be rude
with their caterers. However you must help the caterer realize that you are the one calling the shots and mistakes should not happen.

If successful this article will persuade you that having high standards is not a sin and it is not synonymous with being unpleasant. Just about anyone can agree that there are four main
occasions every person alive must go through. Birth, your graduation, your wedding and your funeral. Let’s hope these things happen in that specific order. Of course we will be talking about the third experience, the wedding.

Not the generalize but the two genders view this special day in different ways. Most men are just thrilled about the fact that they met their soul mate, and really nothing else matters. This isn’t the case for all men but for most, it is generally true. Women are diametrically opposite. This
does not apply to all women but most women have been dreaming about this day ever since they knew how to dream.

They view it with an almost childlike reverence even in adulthood. For them it’s magical. This can be good and bad. Because of this reverence their standards are extremely high. So you can imagine how hard it actually is to meet up to these expectations. So not just any caterer can do the job right.

In older times, the couple would basically have to organize everything, send out the invitations, make the guest list and of course do all the cooking. Thanks to modern society now you can get professionals to handle all of these things. But if you had to pick just one service, which would you pick?

To be honest allot of these services has been just commodities that you could easily live without. Wedding planners are pretty useless because they really don’t save you that much time. And as previously mentioned girls tend to plan out their wedding as soon as they learn to speak so the wedding planners is disposable.

Probably the only service that is truly irreplaceable is that provided by the wedding caterer. It doesn’t matter how much willpower you have, you simply can’t cook enough food to feed hundreds, or even a thousand people. That’s why it is paramount for you to acquire the services of a good, reliable wedding caterer. And let’s just say for the argument’s sake that you, your wife and some family manage to pull it off and you succeed in cooking all of that food, you still don’t have anyone that can serve it. You and your significant other will be busy with the ceremonies. And surely you want your parents enjoying the wedding and not working. That is why out of all the possible wedding related services, the most important is provided by the caterer.
So you can see just how important it is for you to find the right one. That’s why you have to have the highest of standards if you want a successful wedding. Even though you are not doing the work, be sure to have them explain even the most minute details. You must know where, when and how every ingredient was made and how are they going to be prepared. Ask details about the serving staff and about the company itself. You must be extra sure because remember if all goes well, this is your first and your last wedding.

Starting To Cater

If you have the necessary skills to succeed in this field, you will have a great, long lasted and reward full career. Probably the hardest part is getting your business off the ground. I first started catering about 6 years ago in Memphis. I had no idea about the Memphis catering business. So
I went online to find tutorial articles that I could use. I had the impression that there was a specific set of rules that must be followed in order to succeed. I was shocked to see that every article and every expert gave different advice.

I soon realized that there really is to perfect path to be followed, and it is up to every single caterer out there to find his/her own way of doing things, a niche that they are best at. I knew that the road would not be easy, but I also knew that the rewards were going to be absolutely worth
it.

A good piece of advice is that you should not expect any massive paychecks. Because massive paychecks require massive amounts of work. So even if for example someone asks you to cater a wedding for a thousand people, as a beginner you should decline. It’s already hard enough starting your business, let alone getting a massive headache from the impossible stress, high standards and high work hours required by a huge wedding.

So you are better off just starting small,Memphis catering to smaller birthday parties, private gatherings and in generally smaller, more intimate events. It’s not about how nice you can cook, or how well your staff is trained. At this stage it’s about trying the water and going through the motions until you have your basics down and they become second nature. Once you have accustomed to the requirements you can aim higher and higher. And think of the risk factors. If you fail to impress at a child’s pizza party the consequences are not that dire. But fail at a giant wedding or corporate get together and your reputation will get a permanent black marker. How long should this accommodation period be?

Well honestly not a lot, a couple of months should do it. Sometimes picking your battles is just as important as winning them.So let’s say that you have all of these things down, and can start work. Are there things you can do to speed the process? Of course there are but as always they will
cost money. For example a great investment would be buying a refrigerated van. The freshness of ingredients is paramount to not only the taste but the overall quality of the food. So by having fresh ingredients with you at all times, you increase your chances of success. A refrigerated van gives you freshness and mobility. The van is an important purchase but be careful not to overspend. Go on the internet and seek out the best bargain you can find. I can not stress how important a van is. It offers the owner a larger capacity of storage, mobility and refrigeration.

And the final tip that I have for you today is not about contracts or purchases. It is about how you behave. Never bring your troubles to work with you. Always maintain a respectful, calm and friendly demeanor, Remember you are working in a field where careers and made or broken through word of mouth. This also extends to your employees. It’s no secret that happiness increases productivity so by mistreating your staff you decrease your profits.
